NTPC RGPPL Ratnagiri Township Becomes India’s First To Achieve IGBC Net Zero Water Certification
Mumbai, December 19, 2024: NTPC’s Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited (RGPPL) Township has achieved a historic milestone by becoming India’s first township to be awarded the prestigious Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Net Zero Water certification. This landmark achievement reflects NTPC’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and leadership in water management practices.
RGPPL Ratnagiri, a part of NTPC Western Region-I (WR-I), has demonstrated exceptional efforts in sustainable water resource management, including rainwater harvesting, efficient wastewater recycling, and minimizing water consumption through innovative technologies. The township’s success in achieving Net Zero Water status underlines NTPC’s dedication to integrating environmental stewardship into its operations and fostering sustainable development.
On this occasion, Shri Kamlesh Soni, Regional Executive Director, Western Region-I, NTPC, said:
