Pune: Yesterday, on May 7th, the third phase of the general election was held, featuring significant constituencies crucial for both the Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi alliances, including Baramati, Madha, Solapur, and Satara, among others. However, amidst these, the Baramati Lok Sabha seat remained the spotlight for media channels throughout the day.

Yesterday's morning began with a Twitter bombshell in which Rohit Pawar twitted a video of Ajit Pawar activists who were distributing money in Bhor-Velhe Taluka. The video caused an uproar in Baramati, prompting NCP-SP party activists to file a police complaint.

Later in the morning, members of the Pawar family exercised their voting rights in their ancestral hometown of Katewadi. Sharad Pawar notably removed his name from the Mumbai voter list to cast his vote in Baramati. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar and his family, including his mother, Asha Anantrao Pawar, also voted. At that time, Ajit Pawar claimed his mother's blessings were on his side.

Surprisingly, immediately after voting, Mahavikas Aghadi's candidate, Supriya Sule, visited Ajit Pawar's mother at their home in Katewadi, attracting significant media attention. Sule described the visit as a routine greeting; however, the opponents termed it a part of emotional tactics.

In the afternoon, Rohit Pawar shared another video on Twitter, this time showing Indapur's MLA, Datta Bharne, verbally abusing a man for supporting Supriya Sule. Rohit Pawar seized the opportunity to criticise Mahayuti's leaders and expressed concerns about potential booth capture by Mahayuti's leaders. Rohit Pawar framed the election as a battle between Dhanshakti (money power) and Janshakti (people's power).

Surprisingly, in spite of all this political upheaval, the Baramati seat recorded the lowest turnout of 47.84 percent in yesterday's voting.
