Minister Of State For Civil Aviation And Cooperation Visits Pune Metro Office
Pune: Murlidhar Mohol, who recently assumed office as the Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, visited the Pune Metro office at Civil Court today to take an overview of the ongoing Pune Metro project.
Commissioner PMC Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, Div. Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, and PCMC Commissioner Shri Shekhar Singh were also present for the meeting, stated a Maha Metro press release.
During the visit, MD Maha Metro Mr Shravan Hardikar presented an overview of the project to the dignitaries. Accompanying him were Director Works, Mr Atul Gadgil, Director of Systems & Operations, Mr Vinod Agrawal, Executive Director of Admin/PR, Dr. Hemant Sonawane, and other officials of Maha Metro Pune were also present during the meeting.
The meeting focused on several key points, including the provision of more frequent feeder services, updates on the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Swargate-Katraj, Vanaz to Chandani Chowk, and Ramwadi to Wagholi corridors, and Khadakwasla-Swargate-Hadapsar-Kharadi and the provision of feeder services to Pune Airport. Pune Metro is generating a ridership of 5,000 per day with the existing feeder bus services. With more frequent bus services, this number is expected to increase.
On this occasion, MoS Murlidhar Mohol said, " Traffic problem in Pune city is getting worse daily. There is a need to build more metro lines in the city. Also, the metro feeder services need to be strengthened. I will continue to pursue the project reports of Pune Metro's new line and approve them at the earliest."
MD Maha Metro Shri Shravan Hardikar added, "The Pune Metro project is progressing well, and we are committed to enhancing connectivity and improving the overall commuting experience for the citizens of Pune. Our goal is to make Pune Metro the preferred mode of transport for all residents, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and comfortable journey”.
