Machete Attack Over Land Dispute Leaves One Dead, One Injured In Maval Taluka

Pune: In a shocking incident that transpired in the Maval Taluka of Pune district, a violent altercation over a land dispute resulted in the brutal murder of one individual and injury to another. The incident occurred within the confines of Kusur village, at a farmhouse on Takve-Khandi road, on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.
The victim, identified as Akshay Babaji Jagtap, a resident of Chandannagar, Pune, was reportedly attacked with a machete and other weapons. According to police information, a heated dispute arose between Akshay Jagtap and Ankush Turde over objectionable land claims. This disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which Akshay allegedly beat Ankush.
In retaliation, Ankush, enraged by the insult, called seven to eight of his associates, including Mohan Turde and Subhash Turde. The group assaulted Akshay with iron rods, wooden sticks, and iron chains. The severity of the attack was such that Akshay succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The Vadgaon Maval police acted promptly upon receiving information about the incident. They rushed to the scene, where they found Akshay dead and another individual injured. The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while Akshay's body was sent to the hospital at Talegaon Dabhade for an autopsy.
Following the incident, the police booked nine individuals in connection with the murder, including Mohan Turde, Ankush Turde, and Subhash Turde. The incident has created a tense atmosphere in the area, prompting the police to maintain a vigilant watch to prevent any further escalation.
