Pune: A significant gas leak on Jangalee Maharaj (JM) Road in Pune caused widespread alarm this morning. The leak occurred in front of the Shivam Hotel during ongoing road work, leading to a tense situation among local residents and business owners.

According to initial reports, the gas leak started unexpectedly during road repair activities on J. M. Road. Workers accidentally damaged a gas pipeline, resulting in a loud noise and the rapid spread of gas. The incident created an immediate atmosphere of fear and confusion in the surrounding area.

Residents reported hearing a loud hissing noise as the gas leaked, prompting many to evacuate their homes and seek safety. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or damage to property. However, the fear and confusion among the citizens were palpable. The news of the gas leak spread quickly, further contributing to the panic. The local administration was swiftly called to the scene to manage the situation.

Emergency response teams, including fire brigade personnel and gas company technicians, arrived promptly to assess and control the leak.
