Pune: A young woman fell victim to a job scam, wherein she was duped of both cash and online money under false promises of employment. The Hinjewadi police station received a complaint against two individuals accused of orchestrating this fraudulent scheme. The incident occurred between January and May 2024 at the offices of Siddhivinayak Consultancy Services in Wakad and Baxes Private Limited Company in Hinjewadi.
Pooja Patil, the plaintiff, had been actively seeking employment opportunities. Exploiting her vulnerability, the accused, identified as Vikrant Raju Bhosle from Alandi and Paresh Devidas Patil from Chinchwad, deceitfully offered her a job at Baxes Private Limited Company in Hinjewadi, promising an annual package of four lakh rupees.
To seal the deal, the accused demanded a sum of two lakhs from Pooja, both in cash and through online transactions. With high hopes, Pooja complied with their demands, only to receive a fabricated appointment letter via email. Realising the letter was fraudulent, Pooja confronted the accused and demanded her money back. However, the perpetrators refused to refund her money, leaving Pooja in a state of distress and financial loss.
Left with no recourse, Pooja decided to take legal action against the accused and filed a formal complaint at the Hinjewadi Police Station. Subsequently, a case was registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police Sub-Inspector Giri of Hinjewadi Police Station has been assigned to investigate the matter further.
