Pimpri: Charholi-based social worker Yogesh Bhosale saved lives of a father-son duo while their car was getting washed away in the flooded brook near Bhosale Vasti near Charholi.

The duo visited Alandi for cancer treatment for the father. They came all the way from Haridwar. Tushar Kohli took appointment for his father Rajesh Kohli at the Indrayani Hospital in Alandi on Thursday (July 25). 

They were travelling towards Alandi from Charholi. Their car was getting drifted towards the nullah from the road due to a strong water current. Showing presence of mind, Bhosale walked across the brook and approached their car. Till that time, onlookers gathered at the spot. However, nobody dared to save them as the water current was very strong.

A big ditch in the nullah
The brook, which confluences with the Indrayani river, has a 20-ft deep ditch ahead. Had the car gone a bit further, it was difficult to save them as it could have got locked in the water. Bhosale knew this. Hence, braving the strong current of the nullah, he approached the car. 

Car gets stuck at the culvert
Kohli’s car got stuck at the culvert, which Bhosale has built, to cross the brook towards his home. Rajesh Kohli was getting washed away in the current while Bhosale tried to rescue him. But Bhosale held his hand tight and brought him out. Bhosale also treated the Kohlis at his home. Both, the father and the son became emotional after the incident and the rescue by Bhosale. Later, the road was closed for traffic.
