Pune, September 3, 2024: In a tragic accident on the Pune-Solapur highway, a father and son lost their lives when their car collided with a speeding dumper in the Theur Phata area. The incident occurred on Monday, September 1, at around 3:30 p.m., and has left the community in shock.

The deceased have been identified as Abhijit Suresh Pawar (36) and his father, Suresh Prabhakar Pawar (62), both residents of Bakori Phata, Wagholi. The accident has also left three other family members seriously injured: Pranita Pawar, Abhijit's sister-in-law; Sulochana Pawar, his mother; and Riyansh Pawar, his young son. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment and are currently receiving medical care.

According to the police, the Pawar family was travelling in their car on the Pune-Solapur highway when the accident took place. A dumper, driven at high speed by Sandesh Laxmanrao Pawar (33), suddenly collided with their vehicle in the Theur Phata area. The impact of the collision was so severe that Abhijit and his father, Suresh, died on the spot.

In this case, the Loni Kalbhor police have registered a case against the dumper driver, Sandesh Pawar, based on a complaint filed by Aniket Pawar (31). Assistant Police Inspector Shivshant Khose is leading the investigation into the matter.
