Kerala: 24 people were injured, two of them in critical condition, when an elephant  lost control  at BP Angadi in Tirur, Kerala , around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, reported the Hindu.

The incident took place during the annual 'nercha' festival in Tirur, Malappuram, Kerala. Authorities are investigating the incident, raising concerns about use of elephants at public events.
