Pune: After Rohit Pawar twitted a video of the Pune District Central Cooperative (PDCC) Bank of Velhe branch, the election commission has registered a case against the bank for violating a model code of conduct. The action was taken by the election department's vigilance team. The action was taken against the bank for keeping the bank open till midnight on the eve of the election in Baramati.

On May 7, the voting for the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency was held. At midnight on May 7, Rohit Pawar twitted a video on his official 'X' account where some people were seen distributing money in Bhor-Velhe Taluka of Pune district. Notably, in this video, the PDCC bank was seen open at midnight. In his Twitter post, Karjat Jamkhed MLA Rohit Pawar asked the election commission to take stringent note of the incident and to take stringent action against perpetrators.

In his tweet, Rohit Pawar said, "The clock in the Velhe branch of the PDCC bank may have stopped. The bank is still open at 12 a.m. Maybe it is overtime today for tomorrow's voting."

In this regard, the election commission examined the CCTV footage of the bank and found that 40 to 50 people were roaming suspiciously outside the bank at night. A case has been registered against the bank along with the bank manager. The election commission has taken action after confirming Rohit Pawar's complaint.

The third phase of the election was held on May 7. In this phase, polling for one of the most interesting seats in the state, i.e., the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, was held. In Baramati, there is a tough fight between incumbent MP Supriya Sule and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra Pawar. Amidst the allegations of money distribution by MLA Rohit Pawar, it will be interesting to see who will win the coveted seat of Baramati.
