18 Year Old Drowns In Pavana Dam

Pune: In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the Maval area of Pune, an 18-year-old boy lost his life after drowning in the Pavana Dam. The deceased has been identified as Adwait Suresh Sharma, originally from Delhi and currently residing in the Vimannagar area of Pune.
Adwait had gone to the Pavana Dam for a day of recreation with five friends on Sunday. The group, consisting of Prashant Shaha, Arvind Srikumar, Pranav Nandkumar Shrinivas, Mit Sanjaykumar Duggal, and Surank Shashi Pratap, all students of Symbiosis College, entered the dam for a swim in the evening. Unaware of the depth, Adwait tragically drowned.
Upon learning of the incident, the Lonavala Rural Police quickly responded, accompanied by the Shivdurg Rescue Team. The rescue operation, which also involved local villagers, commenced promptly. After a strenuous two-hour effort, Adwait’s body was recovered around 8 p.m.
The senior police inspector of the Lonavala Rural Police Station reported that Adwait's parents have been informed of the tragic event. The inspector also issued an appeal to the public, urging caution while visiting water bodies and other potentially dangerous recreational spots, especially in the monsoon season.
