Pune: In another shocking incident in Pune, three men allegedly gang-raped a 22-year-old woman at Bopdev Ghat in Pune on Thursday night. The accused have not been arrested.

The woman and her 22-year-old friend, both college students, went to the Bopdev Ghat area on their bike where the incident allegedly occured. The duo are not from Pune.Around 11 pm, the trio came to the spot on their bikes and allegedly threatened them. 

The trio tied the man up with a rope, dragged the woman to an isolated area, and gang-raped her, the Pune police said.

After committing the crime, the trio left. The woman returned to her friend and released him.

He immediately informed some of his friends and family members about the incident and took the woman to a private hospital, the police said.

Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Joint Commissioner of Pune City Police, said they have launched a search for the accused.

Local residents said Bopdev Ghat area needs intensified patrolling. Police said authorities should install night-vision CCTV cameras and sign boards in ghat areas.
