Lt Gen JS Sidana Visits VISHRANTI Cancer Palliative Care Centre In Pune
Pune, 6 May 2024: VISHRANTI, a Cancer Palliative Care Centre in Pune and beacon of hope from cancer, received a distinguished visitor on May 5, 2024, as Lt Gen JS Sidana, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Director General of the Corps of Electronics & Mechanical Engineers (EME).
VISHRANTI, a beacon of hope for cancer patients in Pune, embodies the unwavering dedication and vision of its founder, an Army Veteran whose commitment to service transcends the battlefield. Established under the auspices of Care India Medical Society (CIMS), VISHRANTI has become synonymous with providing solace and support to individuals grappling with the devastating effects of cancer. With a thirty-one-year legacy of compassionate care, CIMS, led by Army Veterans, has consistently led the charge in pioneering cancer treatment in Pune, Maharashtra.
Central to VISHRANTI's mission is its motto: "Low-tech effort with high touch." This guiding principle underscores the organization's steadfast commitment to delivering comprehensive cancer treatment and terminal care to underprivileged individuals, irrespective of their financial means. Through strategic partnerships and the effective utilization of existing resources, CIMS has positively impacted the lives of 45,653 cancer patients and their families since its inception in 1993.
During his visit, Lt Gen JS Sidana, accompanied by Mrs Mohnish Sidana, interacted with patients at VISHRANTI, witnessing firsthand the profound impact of compassionate care on those battling cancer. Reflecting on the experience, Lt Gen JS Sidana remarked, "Caring and comforting an ailing patient is a divine act," underscoring the importance of empathy and humanity in healthcare," stated a press release.
