Pune: After the minor accused presented an essay on the 'Effects of Road Accidents and Their Solutions', now he is ordered to study traffic rules by going into the RTO office and giving a presentation on it. Further, he was ordered to help the officials of the RTO with traffic handling. The Maharashtra Times newspaper gave information on it.

Two days ago, the minor accused submitted a 300-word essay on road accidents. After that, he is now ordered to submit a presentation on the same topic in front of the officials.

On June 25, the minor accused was released from the child observation home. At that time, the court had stated that he should give an assurance to comply with the orders given by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for his rehabilitation. Therefore, as per the terms and conditions laid down by the Juvenile Justice Board while first granting him bail, the accused child is to comply with the orders of the JJB.

On the night of May 19, the minor accused hit a two-wheeler, in which two young individuals lost their lives. After that, the Juvenile Justice Board released him within 15 hours of his detention by ordering him to write an essay on the road accident. After this, the board faced much criticism for this order, and the police submitted an application to reconsider the decision of the board.

Accordingly, the board sent him to the child observation centre without cancelling its earlier decision. After that, Pune police extended his stay in the centre twice on a security basis. On the Habeas Corpus petition filed by the aunt of the accused, justice Bharati Dongre and justice Manjusha Deshpande of the Bombay High Court relieved the accused from the centre on June 25.

However, at the time of his release, judges noted that it would be compulsory for the minor accused to follow the guidelines of the Juvenile Justice Board after his release as well.
