After A Road Accident In July, Journalist Dies
Pune: OVER a month after he met with an accident while riding his two-wheeler on Pune-Mumbai highway, Prasad Gosavi, crime reporter, passed away on Sunday. The 45-year-old journalist was undergoing treatment at Lokmanya Hospital, Nigdi. He was a divorcee and his parents had predeceased him.
Prasad had worked with MPCNews.Com, a news portal, for more than 10 years, and had worked with Policenama, another news portal for the last three years.
On July 22, when he was returning home from Pune, he met with an accident. Senior journalist Vivek Inamdar, said, ''Prasad was returning home on his two-wheeler from Pune city to his residence in Yamunanagar on June 22. Passers-by found him lying on the road with his two-wheeler nearby. How the accident occured no one knows. Whether his vehicle skidded or someone brushed past him or dashed his vehicle, there is no clue.''
Inamdar said the entire stretch of road between Bopodi and Khadki is being widened and has become dangerous for two wheeler riders. He said Prasad was initially admitted to YCM hospital and then to Lokmanya Hospital. "He had suffered severe leg injury due to which the leg had to be amputated,'' he said, adding that Gosavi had thereafter suffered a brain stroke last week.
