Mumbai: The Income Tax Department, Mumbai is committed to curb the misuse of money power during the upcoming Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly Election, 2024. With a view to ensure free and fair elections and maintain purity of election, an election expenditure monitoring mechanism consisting of a 24x7 control room has been set up by the Income-Tax Department, Mumbai. This will be in operation till Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in force stated a  press release. This is to enable the conscientious public and the denizens of the state to provide information regarding cash and valuables utilised in electioneering purposes.
