Pune: Yesterday morning, a private travel bus caught fire near Nashik Phata in Pimpri Chinchwad, narrowly avoiding a major tragedy as there were no passengers on board. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.

The incident occurred on June 14 at around 7 a.m. when the bus was travelling from Nigdi to Bhosari. As the bus approached Nashik Phata, it suddenly caught fire. The bus was occupied by two drivers at the time. Upon noticing the flames, the driving driver quickly alerted his colleague and ensured both were safely evacuated from the bus.

Responding swiftly to the emergency call, two fire brigade vehicles rushed to the scene. The firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze, but until then, the front portion of the bus was completely gutted. Although the exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined, the fire brigade team suspects that a short circuit may have been responsible for the sudden outbreak of the fire.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. The fire brigade team, including personnel Bhushan Yewale, Vishal Phadtare, Rupesh Jadhav, Mayur Kumbhar, Siddhesh Darvase, Pratik Ahirekar, Sameer Pote, Pratik Khandge, Shubham Kshirsagar, Aniket Godse, Sanket Bhosale, and Akshay Zure, acted promptly to bring the fire under control.

The swift actions of the drivers and the fire brigade prevented what could have been a disastrous event. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire to prevent similar incidents in the future.
