Pune, August 24, 2024 : A private helicopter en route from Mumbai to Hyderabad crashed today at the foothills of Ghotawade in the Paud area of Pune district. The helicopter of the Global Vectra company reportedly crashed just minutes after take-off.

According to preliminary information, the aircraft was carrying four passengers when it encountered engine trouble due to poor weather conditions and continuous rainfall, leading to the crash.

Local residents were the first to discover the wreckage. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the helicopter circling over the Ghotawade area before it fell to the ground. As news of the incident spread, a large crowd gathered at the site, and emergency services were immediately notified.

Upon receiving the information, police and rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. "Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported, but four passengers sustained serious injuries," said Pankaj Deshmukh, Superintendent of Pune Rural Police. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Details about the helicopter's owner and pilot are yet to be confirmed. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
