Pune: In a late night accident that occurred yesterday in Pimpri-Chinchwad, a four-wheeler collided with a two-wheeler and a rickshaw, resulting in four individuals being injured, with one person in critical condition. The accident was reported to have occurred when the driver of the four-wheeler lost control of his car in the Vallabhnagar area.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place when the four-wheeler, travelling at a high speed, struck a two-wheeler and then a rickshaw from behind. The force of the collision caused significant damage to all three vehicles and led to injuries for those involved. The driver of the four-wheeler, who is identified as a doctor, immediately took action and transported the injured individuals to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri for emergency medical treatment.

The timely intervention of the car driver is believed to have been crucial in ensuring that the injuries sustained by the victims did not worsen. Despite this, one individual remains in critical condition and has been placed under special care. The doctors at YCM Hospital have confirmed that while three individuals have sustained minor injuries, the condition of the fourth individual is severe and has been put under intensive medical care.

Upon receiving information about the accident, the Pimpri police swiftly arrived at the hospital to gather details and initiate an investigation. They are currently working to determine the exact cause of the accident, including whether factors such as speed, mechanical failure, or driver negligence contributed to the loss of control.

Eyewitnesses reported that the impact of the collision caused a loud noise, drawing the attention of nearby residents, who quickly gathered at the scene. The community has expressed concern over the increasing number of road accidents in the area and is calling for better traffic management and road safety measures.
