Pune: As many as 150 persons were injured when firecrackers stored at the Theru Anjootambalam Veererkavu temple at Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district of Kerala went up in blaze during the Vellatam Theyyam ritual around on Tuesday (October 29, 2024). Eight are in critical state.

As the firecrackers ignited, the incident led to panic with crowd running helter skelter. The incident occurred as women and children, gathered to witness the Theyyam ritual. The injured were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals. The police have cordoned off the area.
