Pune: A tragic accident occurred on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Vadgaon yesterday, resulting in the death of a woman and severe injuries to five others, including a container truck driver. The incident happened when a cargo container veered into a shop on the service road to avoid hitting a school bus, creating chaos and significant traffic disruptions.

The accident occurred on June 19, near Vadgaon. The deceased has been identified as Lata Ranjit Jadhav (41), a resident of Vadgaon. The injured include Srushti Rajendra Bhatekar (15), Mrudul Santosh Bhawar (14), Maitrey Santosh Bhawar (11), and Sandeep Piransingh Zalate (40), all residents of Digvijay Colony, Vadgaon.

According to initial reports, several parents were dropping their children off at a school bus stop near a hospital in Vadgaon. Suddenly, the school bus applied its brakes abruptly on the main road. To avoid a collision, the cargo container driver swerved to the left, losing control and crashing into a shop on the service road.
