Pune: In the afternoon hours of June 1, the Pune police control room received a call from an unknown person regarding an abandoned bag at Shaniwar Wada. Responding swiftly, the police evacuated the entire Shaniwar Wada premises within moments and began a thorough search for the reported bag. However, in spite of a thorough search, no such bag was found.

Police Officer Sainath Thombre informed that the Pune Police Control Room had received a call about a suspicious bag in the Shaniwar Wada area today. Acting promptly, the police evacuated the site and summoned the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) to assist in the search. However, after a meticulous search, no bag was discovered.

The police are now investigating the identity of the person who made the false report. In the meantime, they have urged citizens not to panic and reassured them that the area is safe.
