Fake Production Of Branded Clothing Seized In Pimpri Camp, Three Shopkeepers Booked

Pune: Three shopkeepers in Pimpri camp are in hot water after being caught selling counterfeit Puma clothing. A case has been filed against them under the Copyright Act following an operation conducted on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The shops involved in the illicit activity are Akash Dressers, Pragati Dressers, and Avon Dressers. The accused individuals, Afsar Ali Nasruddin Shaikh, Akash Rajesh Jewrani, and Majeed Ahmad Shaikh, have been booked for their involvement in the sale of fake branded apparel.
The complaint was lodged by Mahendra Sohan Singh, who works for a company in Haryana with the legal rights to enforce Puma's copyright and trademark laws. Upon receiving information about counterfeit Puma merchandise being sold in Pimpri camp, Singh informed the police, leading to the investigation.
Upon inspection, the police discovered that the accused were indeed selling fake t-shirts, shorts, and track pants bearing the logo of the Puma brand. The seized goods amounted to a value of Rs. 12 lakh, 93 thousand.
Police Inspector Crime Rupali Bobde is overseeing the ongoing investigation into the matter.
