Prove to be superior to all in the Hockey Poona League with easy wins  

PUNE, 11th August 2024: Krida Prabodhini lay their hands on two titles winning the Senior and Junior Division Hockey Pune League 2024-25 to remain undisputed champions in the tournament conducted under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra, at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri on Sunday.

In one-sided finals' that dotted the day, Krida Prabodhini claimed the Senior Division title downing GST & Central Excise, Pune 5-1. Sachin Rajgode (10th), Rohan Patil (15th), Rahul Shinde (20th), Sachin Kolekar (21st), Sagar Shingude (30th) scored with field goal efforts, while Taleeb Shah (59th) reduced the margin for GST & Central Excise, Pune.

In the third place play off Food Corporation of India, Pune pushed aside Central Railway, Pune 3-2. Shri Kishan (3rd) convereteda penalty stroke, while Akash Raj (53rd) converted a penalty corner and Raj Patil (57th) completed the tally. For Central Railway, a brace by Stephen Swami (6th, 17 - p.c) reduced the margin.

The Junior Division was one-sided, with Krida Prabodhini blanking Friends Union Club 7-0. Soham Kashid (42nd), Salman Ambi (43rd), Gaurav Patil (43rd - p c), Suraj Shukla (45th and 59th), Kartik Pathre (54th) and Deepak Chavan (57th) were players on target, while Friends Union failed to score.

In the third place play-off, Hockey Lovers Sports Club pipped Poona Sports Academy 3-2. Omkar Anjeer (27th), Nihal Goratkar (44th), Akash Belitkar (50th) netted for the winners, while Manoj Pillay (47th- p.s), Ronak Yedellu (56th) found the target for the losers.

Later, the prizes were given away by ex-Olympian Rahul Singh in the presence of fellow Olympians Vikram Pillay, ex-International and Deputy Comissionedr GST Dhananjaj Mahadik and Manoj Bhore, Honarary Secretary Hockey Pune and also the Vice President Hockey Maharashtra.
