Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Interacts with Law Students and Aspiring Lawyers at Mantralaya

Pawar met and spoke with the students of Shri Shivaji Maratha Society’s Law College, Pune
Pawar said, “Law students should take the initiative to spread awareness about the Constitution and the law”

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar interacted with law college students and aspiring lawyers at the Mantralaya office in Mumbai on Monday. While speaking with them, Pawar said strengthening democracy and building a cultured society requires citizens' awareness of the Constitution of India and the country’s laws. To create this awareness and to help the underprivileged, neglected, and oppressed sections of society secure their rights and justice, law students should take the lead and play a significant role as just lawyers in the future.

More than 50 students from Shri Shivaji Maratha Society’s Law College in Pune, accompanied by Principal Siddhkala Bhavsar and Associate Professor Bhanudas Garje, met Pawar on Monday.

During the interaction held in the Deputy Chief Minister’s Committee Hall, students discussed various issues including political, social, economic, cultural, and legal matters. While guiding the students, Pawar emphasized that students should remain lifelong learners. "The feeling of constant learning should persist even after age fifty. While studying, students should work alongside experienced professionals in their respective fields and learn the ins and outs of their profession. Life should always be approached with a positive mindset. Today, as law students, you will become successful lawyers tomorrow. But before becoming a lawyer, strive to be an ideal student today and ideal citizen tomorrow," he urged.

Pawar also engaged in informal and candid Q&A sessions posed by the students. Responding to one such question, he said, "To sustain oneself in politics, social work, economics, arts, sports, literature, and law, one must constantly prove oneself. This requires extensive study, relentless hard work, and determination; so prepare accordingly. Strive to fulfill the responsibilities assigned by the Constitution and the laws with honesty, courage, impartiality, and dedication," he advised.

Meanwhile, the students expressed that in their brief interaction with the state Deputy CM, they witnessed the persona of a people’s leader, a senior family guide, and a candid friend. Over 50 students, including Sagar Khurvad, Mahadev Patil, Anuj Basale, Amit Kakde, Shantanu Date, and Harish Minekar, participated in the discussion, stated a press release.
