Cyber Security Workshop Conducted by GH Raisoni Senior College in Collaboration with Akashvani Pune

Pune: A comprehensive workshop on 'Cyber Security and College Girls' was successfully conducted at GH Raisoni Arts, Science, and Commerce Senior College, Pune. The event was organized in collaboration with Akashvani Pune Center, aiming to raise awareness about the growing challenges of cyber-crime among young women.

One of the speakers Vaishali Mandpe, while addressing the attendees, highlighted the shifting nature of crime in today's digital age. She emphasized that unlike traditional crimes, which are often visible and tangible, cyber-crimes are largely invisible, making them harder to detect and address. Mandpe also pointed out that the rise of artificial intelligence has further complicated the landscape of cyber-crime, making it imperative for young women to be vigilant. She stressed the importance of timely reporting to the police, as this can prevent many potential dangers.

The workshop featured several esteemed speakers, including Dr. Rohan Nyayadhish, Neelima Patwardhan, Pune Akashvani Program Officer and Announcer Gauri Lagoo. Prof. Dr. Vaibhav Hendre, Deputy Director, GHRCEM and Dr. Harish Kulkarni, Director, GHRCACS were also present, lending their support to the initiative. The workshop was prefaced by Neelima Patwardhan, Program Officer of Akashvani Pune Centre. Neelima Patwardhan said that this is a special effort of Akashvani to make the young generation aware of the importance of cyber security, its various aspects and its effectiveness. Artificial Intelligence is a boon for the young generation in this era, but its dangers are equally terrifying. Voices and images can be faked, and the criminal world can create social instability. This was asserted by Dr. Vaibhav Hendre.

During the session, the speakers educated the students on a variety of critical topics, including cyber security, emerging cyber threats, the importance of personal information and data protection, multi-system security coding practices, and compliance with cyber rules, commonly known as netiquettes. They also discussed the social, financial, personal, psychological, and ideological implications of cyber threats, encouraging the participants to adopt best practices in digital behavior.

Pune Akashvani Program Officer Neelima Patwardhan and Announcer Gauri Lagoo provided further insights, reinforcing the need for awareness and proactive measures in the fight against cyber crime.

Dr. Harish Kulkarni, Director, GHRCACS underscored the importance of communication and support systems for young women. He advised students to reach out to their parents and teachers if they suspect they are being targeted by cyber criminals, emphasizing that prompt action can help prevent life-threatening situations.

The workshop was organized and executed with the dedicated efforts of Prof. Sheela Satav, Prof. Snehal Shinde, Prof. Priyanka Deshmukh, and Prof. Vaishnavi Lokhande, who worked tirelessly to ensure its success.
