Female Swindler Escapes Police Custody in Hadapsar, Officer Dismissed

Pune: In a shocking incident, a female swindler arrested by Hadapsar police for theft during the Vaari Sohla has escaped from police custody. The incident has led to the dismissal of the female police inspector responsible for her detention. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Circle 5, R. Raja, took the disciplinary action against Inspector Tarabai Khandekar.

The absconded suspect has been identified as Dhurpata Ashok Bhosale, a native of Sillod Taluka in Nanded. Bhosale was apprehended red-handed by Hadapsar police while stealing money from people during the Vaari Sohla. However, on July 3, she managed to escape from custody, prompting a search operation by the police team.

Inspector Tarabai Khandekar, responsible for overseeing Bhosale's custody, was found to have neglected her duties, resulting in Bhosale's escape. Despite efforts to locate the fugitive, including a review of CCTV footage, Bhosale remains at large. Consequently, Khandekar was dismissed for her failure to ensure proper detention protocols and her recklessness in handling the accused.

The order for Khandekar's dismissal cited the tarnishing of the police force's image due to this incident. Deputy Commissioner R. Raja emphasised that such negligence cannot be tolerated, highlighting the importance of strict adherence to duty and accountability within the police force.
