Pune, September 24, 2024: In a tragic accident this morning, a 23-year-old computer engineer lost his life after a speeding dumper collided with his two-wheeler in the Kharadi area of Nagar Road. Shockingly, the dumper driver immediately skedaddled from the spot without admitting the young man to the hospital. In this regard, the Chandan Nagar police have registered a case against him.

The deceased individual has been identified as Chaitanya Umesh Shinde (age 23, a resident of Supreme Angan Society, Wagholi). Chaitanya Shinde had just completed his engineering degree from computer science, and he was employed in an IT company in Kharadi.

On Tuesday morning, Chaitanya was going to the office on his two-wheeler from the Nagar road. However, near the Reliance Mart, his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding dumper, causing his death.

The impact of the accident was so severe that Chaitanya was blown away some distance following the accident. In this, he received heavy injuries to his head.

After the accident, nearby residents and the police rushed him to the hospital. However, Chaitanya succumbed to his injuries and died during treatment. After the accident, police have started a search operation for the absconded dumper driver, and the police are tracing him by checking the CCTV footage of the area. Police learnt that the dumper driver had gone towards Hadapsar.

Meanwhile, in recent days, the increasing number of accidents has become a common phenomenon in Kharadi, Vadgaon Sheri, and Wagholi areas. Increased urbanisation, congested roads, and heavy vehicles have contributed to the increase in incidence of serious and fatal accidents on these roads.
