Complaint Against Comedians For Abusive Language

A formal complaint has been filed in Mumbai, Maharashtra against well-known social media personalities Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija, recognized as 'BeerBiceps' and ‘The Rebel Kid’, alongside comedian Samay Raina for their purported use of 'abusive language' during a show titled 'India's Got Latent'.
The content creators, as well as the event organizers, have also been charged, according to news agency ANI.
A complaint has been lodged with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission, urging stringent measures against the “accused” mentioned in the letter.
The letter cited in the report claimed that these statements were “made to gain attention through controversy, disregarding the damage inflicted on women's dignity and the adverse impact on young viewers, especially minors, who could have encountered these comments.”
Content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, along with the podcaster 'Beer Biceps', appeared together in one of Raina's show episodes.
During the episode, Allahbadia asked a 'would you rather' question related to sexual or intimate relationships involving their parents. His comments went viral online, leading to outrage from netizens against Allahbadia.
In response, to the podcaster's comments , Maharashtra CM said , "I’ve heard about it, but I haven’t viewed it yet. Certain things have been misrepresented and misinterpreted. While everyone has the right to express themselves, our freedom is limited when it infringes on the rights of others."
"There are certain rules in Indian society, and if anyone breaks them, it is viewed as "entirely unacceptable," suggesting that actions should be taken against such individuals," he added.
Assam CM Himanta Biswas Sarma said on X ,"Today @GuwahatiPol has registered an FIR against against certain Youtubers and social Influencers, namely
1. Shri Ashish Chanchlani
2. Shri Jaspreet Singh
3. Shri Apoorva Makhija
4. Shri Ranveer Allahbadia
5. Shri Samay Raina and others
for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in a show titled ' India's Got Latent'."
He also wrote on X , "Guwahati Crime Branch has registered a case vide Cyber PS case no 03/2025 under sections - 79/95/294/296 of BNS 2023 read witb Sec 67 of IT Act, 2000, read with Section 4/7 of Cinematograph Act 1952 read with Section 4/6 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 .Investigation is currently underway"
