Pune: On Monday, June 25, Suresh Koshta, the father of Ashwini Koshta, and Omprakash Awadhiya, the father of Anish Awadhiya, met the Chief Minister of the state, Eknath Shinde, at his official bungalow, Varsha, in Mumbai. Both had lost their children in the Kalyaninagar fatal car accident case. At this time, CM Eknath Shinde consoled them and understood their problems. The CM also assured them of swift action against the accused involved in this case.
On the night of May 19, the minor accused, Vedant Agarwal, rammed his speeding four-wheeler Porsche car with a two-wheeler, in which Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, who were engineers by profession, lost their lives. After that, the parents of the minor accused, the local MLA, and the entire administrative machinery attempted to save the minor accused, which caused a great stir in state politics. However, after that, the deputy CM and the Home Minister of the state, Devendra Fadnavis himself, visited Pune and ordered a strict investigation into the case.
CM Eknath Shinde also earlier ordered the Pune Commissioner not to spare anyone who was involved in the case. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court recently ordered the release of the minor accused from the detention centre, and the accused's father also got bail in one of the three cases registered against him. In that backdrop, the father of deceased individuals in the car accident case met CM Eknath Shinde.
In the meeting with parents, CM Shinde assured them that the government will make full efforts to fast-track the case and bring the guilty to justice as soon as possible. "I can understand the grief of the sudden departure of children," said Shinde. Notably, he also took the decision to give Rs 10 lakh to each family from the Chief Minister Assistance Fund.
After meeting with CM Shinde, both the parents thanked CM Shinde for listening to their side and for their efforts in the fast-track investigation of the case.
