During a review meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House on Wednesday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed that an underpass be constructed from Yerawada to Katraj to enhance communication in Pune city.

The underpass should be designed as a 'twin tunnel' type, and proposals incorporating new technology for its construction should be submitted without delay, he stated.

Together with Pune, a meeting involving the Nashik, Nagpur, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Metropolitan Region Development Authorities took place

 Pune Mirror reported that the proposed underground route connecting Yerawada to Katraj is expected to cover a distance of 20 kilometers and has a planned budget of Rs 7,500 crore.

This project will comprise two tunnels, each designed with three lanes, along with multiple entry and exit points at three to four locations.
