Pune: A Class 9 student of an international school in Pune allegedly slit the throat of his classmate recently following a petty quarrel over organising the Annual Day function.

The victim student, 15, lodged an FIR at the local police station on Wednesday.

The police have detained the accused boy, 14, on charges of attempt to murder under Sections 109, and 351 (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), The Indian Express.

The police said the accused boy in a fit of anger allegedly attacked the complainant.

The accused allegedly attacked the complainant boy from behind and slit his throat with a piece of glass, leaving him injured.

The assailant also allegedly threatened to kill the complainant, the police added.

Teachers and school staff admitted the injured student to a hospital.
