Pune: In an exemplary action, the Chinchwad police successfully thwarted a robbery attempt by a group of Syndicates yesterday. The Chinchwad police arrested three robbers who were attempting dacoity at the Sonigara Jewellers gold shop. This action was taken by the Chinchwad police on Sunday, July 7, at around 3.45 p.m.

In this police action, police arrested three individuals, namely, Sunil Maruti Loni (22), a resident of Bijali Nagar; Samil Mohhamad Bagwan (24), a resident of Chinchwad; and Kashinath Kalyan Ukali (24), a resident of MIDC Bhosari. Apart from these, the police further booked Joyba Bagwan and Mayur Surwale in connection with the case.

On Sunday afternoon, the Chinchwad police got the intelligence that a few suspicious individuals were standing in the free premises of the Chinchwad Railway Station area. Police learned that they were attempting a robbery at a gold shop in Chinchwad. Accordingly, the police promptly raided the location and arrested all the individuals by setting a trap.

In the subsequent police investigation, police found one sword, one chopper, one nylon rope, five masks, and red chilli powder with them. When interrogated, the accused confessed their plan to rob the Sonigara Jewellers gold shop in the Chapekar Chowk of Chinchwad. Chinchwad police are conducting further investigation into the case.
