Chetichand Festival Showcases Vibrant Sindhi Culture
Pune: Sindhu Seva Dal recently enthusiastically celebrated the 1074th Birth Anniversary of Lord Sai Jhulelal and the Sindhi New Year. The festival took place at the banquet hall and grounds of Deccan College in Yerawada, commencing with the worship of Lord Sai Jhulelal's image, followed by a vibrant program featuring music, bhajans, and Mahaprasad.
The celebration featured various cultural activities, bhajans, and delightful delicacies. Community members sang devotional aartis of Lord Sai Zhulelal, accompanied by the 'Ayo Lal Zhulelal' chant and various rituals. Attendees also participated in dance performances and bhajans of Sai Julelal, immersing themselves in the passionate atmosphere, reflecting joy on every Sindhi brother and sister's face.
The live concert, featuring renowned singers Shubham Nathani from Mumbai, Drashti Kukreja from Nagpur, and master Harshal from Rajasthan, along with a performance by Bhagyashree Daryani from Jaipur, captivated the audience. The festival also featured an enchanting dance performance by the children of Generation Next Dance Academy, concluding with a sumptuous feast (Mahaprasad). Over 4500 Sindhi community members from Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and surrounding areas participated in the festivities.
Distinguished guests, including Founder Director of Aswani Promoters and Builders Srichand Aswani and Retired Associate Professor of BJ Medical College Dr. Lachmandas Ferwani, were honored during the event. Recognition was also given to the social work of Mukul Madhav Foundation and ANP Care Foundation. The event was graced by the presence of Sindhu Seva Dal President Ashok Vaswani, Founder Member Ishwar Kripalani, Ex-President Manohar Ferwani, and other esteemed members such as Suresh Jethwani, Peeter Dalwani, Deepak Wadhvani, vice president Purushottam Paryani, secretary Sachin Talreja, treasurer Rajendra Ferwani, joint treasurer Nilesh Ferwani, Public Relation Officer Devendra Chawala, Simran Jethwani, Vinod Rohani, among others.
Ashok Vaswani highlighted Sindhu Seva Dal's 37-year commitment to promoting Sindhi traditions and culture, fostering a sense of unity and joy among attendees. Suresh Jethwani noted the overwhelming response to the Chetichand festival, while Sachin Talreja expressed gratitude on behalf of the organizers.
