Chennai International Airport will remain closed . Air India has cancelled its flights operations from Chennai airport till 0700 hrs of 1 December 2024.

"A WebEx meeting was conducted on 30th November 2024 at 1630 hrs, involving all stakeholders and officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). During the meeting, IMD provided updates indicating that the landfall is expected around 2030 hrs, with prevailing weather conditions likely to persist until 2330 hrs," posted on Chennai Airport X. 

"Following consultations with AAI Headquarters and considering feedback from stakeholders, it has been decided to extend the closure of operations through a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) until 0400 IST on 1st December 2024," stated on Chennai Airport X handle.

"All possible efforts are being made to minimize inconvenience to our customers, booked on these flights, due to this unforeseen situation, including offering complimentary rescheduling, accommodation in next available flight(s) or full refund, as per their preference," stated on Air India X handle.

"Air India is also offering a one-time waiver of rescheduling charges to customers booked on flights scheduled to or from Chennai dated 30 November to 1200 hrs on 01 December.
