Boat Capsizes In Ujani Dam: Six Missing, Search Operations Enter Second Day

Pune: Yesterday, on May 21, a boat carrying passengers capsized in Ujani Dam. In this incident, six of the travellers drowned in the dam. After the information was received, a search operation was carried out throughout the night. However, the rescue personnel have not been able to find the drowned people yet.
For the second day in a row, the rescue operation is going on at the Ujani Dam today. This incident came to light after police sub-inspector Rahul Dongre, who was also in that boat, informed the villagers and local administration. After the boat capsized yesterday, Dongre bravely swam to the edge of the dam and saved his life. He then informed the villagers about the incident.
According to the primary information, six people have drowned in the incident, which includes four people and two toddlers. The drowned individuals have been identified as Gokul Dattatray Jadhav (30), Komal Gokul Jadhav (25), Shubham Gokul Jadhav, Mahi Gokul Jadhav (all were residents of Zare, Taluka Karmala, District Solapur), Anurag Avghade(35) and Gaurav Dongre.
After learning about the incident, the administrations of Solapur and Pune districts have started a search operation for the passengers in Ujani Dam since Tuesday evening. The boat capsized when it was travelling from Kugaon village in Karmala Taluka of Solapur District to Kalashi village in Indapur Taluka. PSI Dongre informed that a powerful gust of wind struck in the middle of the river, causing the boat to overturn and resulting in the drowning of six people.
Passengers are transported daily by this boat from Kugaon village in Solapur to Kalashi village in Indapur, Pune. Villagers informed that normally this boat makes 10 to 15 rounds a day. However, a big accident happened on Tuesday evening when the boat sank. Notably, two children also lost their lives in yesterday's incident.
