Bibvewadi Police Intensify Probe: Apprehend Four Suspects Linked to Bibvewadi Vandalism Spree

Pune: On Thursday, a syndicate of 10 to 15 individuals created a ruckus in the Bibvewadi area of Pune by vandalising parked vehicles around 11 p.m. In this case, police have now ramped up the investigation and detained four people, including one on-record criminal.

A spree of vandalism erupted in Bibvewadi around 11 p.m. on the night of Thursday, where a few individuals brazenly vandalised vehicles parked at Navachaitanya Mitra Mandal in Bibvewadi by brandishing machetes, wooden bamboos, and hocky sticks in the air to create terror in the area.

In the horrified act of vandalism, the accused damaged five parked autorickshaws, 15 to 20 two-wheelers, and one car by striking it with machetes and bamboo sticks. Because of this, terror had spread in the area.

In this regard, Dhondiram Mahadev Rawal (53), a resident near a super water tank in Bibvewadi, Pune, filed a complaint at the Bibvewadi police station in the aftermath of the incident. Accordingly, police took a strong note of the incident and promptly filed a complaint against the accused perpetrators. Till Saturday night, the Bibvewadi police had successfully apprehended four accused.

The apprehended accused have been identified as Shubham Nandkishor Sagare, alias Khobare, Ravi Anand Chavan, Mukesh Marathe, and Ashish Pakhare.

Bibvewadi police registered a case against detained individuals under IPC 141, 143, 147, 148, 149, 506(2), 504, 427, 4(25)c, 37 (1) (3), and 135 and ordered further investigations into the case. Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Kalukhe of the Bibvewadi Police is conducting further investigation into the case.
