Beed And Parbhani Incidents Have Shaken The Confidence Of The Common Man In The System, Says Aam Aadmi Party
Pune, January 1: THE Aam Aadmi Party has described the Beed sarpanch murder case and Parbhani case and the way they have been handled as ''shocking, scary and one which erodes the confidence of the common man in the system in place.''
''Last year, the Porsche car accident in Pune was very shocking and it revealed how not only the entire administrative system but also the public representatives try to support the criminals. The current Santosh Deshmukh murder case in Beed is politically sensitive. Office bearers belonging to the ruling party are involved in it. Various cases of corruption and everything from extortion, kidnapping, murder to slander and humiliation of women have come to light,'' said Mukund Kirdat, AAP spokesperson in a press release.
''Moreover, for 22 days, the police and CID could not find the main accused Valmik Karad. He has now appeared on his own. However, his supporters were aware and knew about it. MLA , Suresh Dhas, of his own coalition party, who is raising suspicions against cabinate monister Dhananjay Munde. Instead of arresting the suspected accused Valmik Karad, the CBI was conducting a campaign to seize his property. Now Home Minister Fadnavis should tell the public how this will curb hooliganism. What does it mean that the suspect is not found for 22 days? The other accused mainly Sudarshan Ghule is still absconding. All these developments raise questions about the credibility of the Home Department,'' Kirdat said.
The AAP said incidents in Parbhani and now Beed highlight the level at which the administrative system misuse power and public representatives fuel hooliganism , corruption. ''Today, the feeling has arisen in the minds of all Marathi people that there is no one left to protect the common man. Despite the constant criticism of the Home Department for the past few years, Devendra Fadnavis has insisted on keeping the department with himself. Although Devendra Fadnavis considers himself Chanakya, he seems to be failing in managing the Home Department. Therefore, to reassure the people of Maharashtra, we are demanding that he should leave the Home Department and hand it over to a competent person.''
