Pune: Election Returning Officer Kavita Dwivedi has issued a notice to candidates Supriya Sule from Mahavikas Aghadi and Sunetra Pawar from Mahayuti regarding discrepancies found during the second inspection of election expenses in the Baramati constituency.

During the second investigation, discrepancies were discovered between the expenses reported by the candidates and those observed by the administration. Specifically, a difference of Rs 1.3 lakh was noted in Sule's reported expenditure, while Pawar's showed a discrepancy of Rs 9.10 lakh.

Both candidates' representatives contested the discrepancies, prompting Dwivedi to request clarification within two days. Failure to provide satisfactory explanations within this timeframe will result in the disputed amounts being included in their expense accounts, assuming the discrepancies are deemed acceptable.

To address these issues, candidates have been instructed to disclose additional information or provide explanations within the stipulated time frame. Furthermore, individuals are requested to bring forth any related complaints to the District Expenditure Monitoring Committee.
