Anurag Thakur Pays A Visit To The City Cricket Museum
Explores collaboration for a new museum at Dharamshala Cricket Stadium
Pune, September 26 : Former Union Minister, senior BJP Leader and the former President of BCCI, Anurag Thakur visited Blades of Glory, a renowned museum of cricket memorabilia at Sahakar Nagar. Rohan Pate, Founder of this museum explained to him the objective behind setting up this museum and the significance of the collection displayed.
After seeing Blades of the Glory Anurag Thakur said, "I haven't seen any cricket museum have this kind of collection with them which has a lot of history associated with it. Such a collection shows the passion, commitment and zeal of the founder and his years of effort which he then gave back to society in the form of a museum."
"I wanted to set up such a museum but I could not, Rohan Pate did it. The cricket stadium at Dharamshala is visited by over 500,000 tourists every year since it offers beautiful views. We are now adding some more attractions like a food court, handicrafts and handlooms and a cricket museum so that tourists that come here in large numbers can spend some more quality time. An area of 15000 square feet has been earmarked for the cricket museum and we are exploring collaboration with Blades of Glory in setting up this museum. Some of our collections and some collections from the Blades of Glory can be displayed at this cricket museum at Dharmshala", he added.
