Anti-Encroachment Drive By PCMC Targets 27 Unauthorised Commercial Constructions Within Blue Lines Of River Boundaries

Pune, September 24, 2024: The anti-encroachment department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has begun a massive drive to remove unauthorised constructions within the blue boundary of the three rivers of Pavana, Mula, and Indrayani.
Recently, the PCMC's anti-encroachment department conducted a survey on the issue. Based on the findings, the PCMC has initiated action against unauthorised commercial constructions, starting on Tuesday, September 24.
The anti-encroachment department of the Municipal Corporation has begun its drive on Tuesday by initially taking action against unauthorised commercial constructions that fall under the blue boundary of the three rivers. Accordingly, the action was taken against as many as 27 unauthorised commercial constructions in B, D, and E Regional Offices of the Municipal Corporation on Tuesday.
Further, it has been clarified by the anti-encroachment department of the PCMC that henceforth all constructions will be evicted.
*Details of the Demolition Operations:*
In the 'B' Regional Office area, action was taken against six illegal commercial constructions, resulting in the demolition of approximately 5,500 square feet. The operation was supported by 20 MSF jawans, with two JCBs used for the task.
Similarly, in the 'D' Zonal Office jurisdiction, the PCMC took action against 11 unauthorised brickworks and iron sheds, demolishing around 16,000 square feet of illegal structures. The operation was executed with the help of field officers, three encroachment superintendents, eight beat inspectors, 10 police personnel, and 15 labourers, along with two JCBs and a tractor breaker.
In the 'E' Zonal Office area, action was taken against 10 unauthorised commercial constructions, leading to the demolition of an area totalling 16,400 square feet. The team for this operation included four field officers, one encroachment superintendent, six beat inspectors, 30 police personnel, and 15 labourers, with two JCB machines employed in the process.
