Pune: "Instead of running after secure jobs be an Innovator and start your own enterprise. Don’t be a job seeker, be a job creator," said Shri. Ramesh Bais, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra.

Symbiosis Cultural Centre organized the International Students Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, 25th June 2024 at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Auditorium, Lavale, Pune. Shri. Ramesh Bais, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra was invited as the Chief Guest for the function. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President, Symbiosis and Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) presided over the function. 85 Students from 26 different countries conferred the degrees.

Speaking at the occasion, Shri. Ramesh Bais said, "AI and Machine Learning can definitely create new jobs in the market for those who will learn the techniques. It will be an added advantage for the learners. Students should also consider joining Public Service and contribute to the progress of the nation."

"30 years ago, there were no IT companies in Pune but now the city has become an IT Hub. Workplaces are now becoming diverse and inclusive at the same time. Students need to acquire competent skills to get into these types of jobs," Shri. Bais added further.

He also said, "You are not only the citizens of your own country but you are world citizens and as citizens of the world you should be aware of the problems faced by the world like global warming and climate change. As time progresses these problems will become more serious and will create challenges to the survival of mankind hence we must protect our mother earth."

Dr. Mujumdar in his presidential address mentioned that it’s a great opportunity for the international students to receive a degree at the hands of the Governor of Maharashtra, this is the significance of this convocation ceremony.

"Please do remember this country as the country of Gandhi and Buddha. Remember Pune City where you studied as the historical city where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ruled. Remember this institution which shaped your life. Symbiosis is the only Institution which has the motto of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam, World is One Family," he added.

Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis and Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) gave the welcome address and Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman, Vice- Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) gave the vote of thanks, stated a press release.
